Emma King

Founder / Chair

Emma has used her own life experiences and expertise in management, retail and charity retail background, to create and establish Swindon Sisters Alliance. Emma’s sister Julie, died from domestic abusive homicide in 2005. Emma wanted to create something to relieve pressure within her own community and reach out to the very needy. Using her own knowledge in how homicide, suicide, mental health, domestic abuse, the justice system, criminal and family courts, parole, life licence conditions and release of the Perpetrator impacted the whole family. Emma wanted to use her own families challenges to help others in need 

Emma is very passionate about promoting positive change and helping bring families together in such traumatic life challenges. She really wanted to help build a stronger support system around the family and create happier memories to cherish with their children. Creating the SSA vision to help assist families with trips, activities, holidays, and signposting to help assist with domestic abuse awareness and finding families that has been lost in the system without any support in place. Emma wants to play a part in creating positive change, helping assist organisations and local authorities to learn from the long term impact that such crimes affect family’s way after the crime itself takes place.

Tina Eaton

Non-Executive Director

Tina is 55 years old and a mother of 4. Tina is a manager of a local post office and has experience in running local public houses over the years. During her time Tina has looked after customers’ needs, made sound decisions and problem-solved, whilst controlling the business and managing the margins. Tina is a people person and has witnessed first-hand how domestic abuse can impact families and children. She is passionate and committed to assisting Swindon Sisters Alliance CIC vision to help families that are impacted by making a difference.

Colette Evan-James

SENDS Coordinator

Colette is a mother to 8 (and a Nan) and comes with a huge range of expertise, as well as having lived experience of domestic abuse. Colette has worked up to an access course and led up to her degree in early childhood (BA). Colette has worked in many roles over the years, including volunteering. She has received an NVQ 2 in Childcare as well as volunteering at a local NSPCC. Before this, she worked at a preschool, setting and supporting workers with play therapy.

Colette has a specialist interest in SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disability) and is very passionate about helping Swindon Sisters Alliance's SEND families with their rights, signposting and helping them with a good quality of life. Also helping families receive the right support and helping service users with locations that suit their family's additional needs.
